Last updated · April 2025

This page summarises the Areivim UK membership terms. The signed Terms & Conditions provided at enrolment are the governing document; please read them in full before joining. If anything here is unclear, contact the office.

1. The purpose of Areivim UK

The goal of Areivim UK is to assist families in which a parent has passed away (רח״ל) leaving unmarried children, by enabling the community to provide for those children and the surviving parent at their time of need.

2. The benefit

In the event that a member of Areivim UK or their spouse passes away, Areivim UK will assist the family by facilitating the setting up of a fund which provides:

  • £40,000 towards the wedding of each unmarried child of the family;
  • a further £40,000 for the surviving parent; and
  • monthly support of £600 for each unmarried child, to help with day-to-day needs.

If a fund has already been set up for a family upon the passing of one parent, no further fund will be set up should the surviving parent later pass away.

3. Eligibility

Eligibility to enrol in Areivim UK is based on the family’s commitment to Shmiras Torah U’Mitzvos and on their residing in the United Kingdom.

4. Enrolment

  • Enrolment is free.
  • Enrolment is open at specified times of the year only; no registration is possible at other times.
  • Members should receive a confirmation certificate and a personal membership number within one month of applying. Members who have not received their certificate must contact the Areivim UK office.
  • Membership is conditional on an active Direct Debit mandate being in place.

5. Collection

There is no regular monthly membership fee. Money is collected only when a tragedy has occurred; if no tragedy has occurred, there is no collection.

  • When a tragedy occurs, £8 per unmarried orphan is collected from each member.
  • Areivim UK will not collect more than £40 from any member in a given month (other than from members who generously choose to contribute more than standard membership).

6. Changes to these terms

Areivim UK may update these terms from time to time. The current version is available on this website and the version provided at enrolment governs the membership.
